Athena’s favorite superhero is Moon Girl because she’s smart, creative, curious, and never lets anyone tell her she can’t do something. Athena loves how she uses her intelligence and love of learning to solve problems and help others. She sees herself in Moon Girl because she’s also incredibly bright, loves to learn, and sees the world in her own unique way. Moon Girl reminds Athena that being different and being yourself can be your greatest superpower.
Her love of superheroes grew from her love of learning and imagination. She is 10, autistic, incredibly curious, and when something interests her, she wants to learn everything about it. What fascinates her most is the idea that everyone can have something extraordinary inside them. For her, superheroes aren’t only about flying or super strength—they’re about discovering what makes you different and turning it into a strength.
She already knows exactly what her superpower would be: KNOWLEDGE. She would want the ability to learn and understand anything. When something catches her interest, she reads, researches, asks questions and keeps going until she understands it. To her, knowledge means there is always another mystery to solve, another question to answer and another way to help someone. She doesn’t dream of being the strongest person in the room—she dreams of being the one who knows how to find the answer.
