Aurora is an everyday superhero: kind to her little sister, always helping others, brave enough to try new things, and quick to comfort.
Thank you for generously supporting Aurora in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Spider-Man is Aurora’s favorite superhero because she understands that first impressions aren’t always accurate. She knows that something—or someone—can be much more interesting, kind, or special than they first appear. She loves looking beyond the surface and making her own judgments. And, of course, as a kid who loves creepy crawlies, she thinks Spider-Man’s spider connection is pretty awesome!
Aurora’s love of superheroes started with her parents sharing our favourite superhero shows and movies with her. But it has grown through the heroes she has discovered herself, too. Shows like Paw Patrol and Sonic have helped her see that being a hero can mean being brave, helping others, solving problems, and standing up for what’s right. She loves all kinds of heroes and especially enjoys imagining herself having adventures of her own.
Aurora would choose super speed! She would love to zoom anywhere in the world in an instant, explore new places, and still be home in time for bedtime. Her super speed would also help her find her way home if she ever got lost. She thinks it would be the perfect power for adventures—fast enough to explore the world, but always able to race back home to the people she loves.
