Beckett's favorite superheroes are Spider-Man and his little sister, Bella. He admires Spider-Man because he shows him that even when things get difficult, he never stops doing the right thing! But his little sister, Bella is his real-life hero. She inspires him everyday to be kind and to remember that he doesn't need a cape or super-strength to help someone in need.
Being born a preemie and later being diagnosed with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia, we saw how hard reading, writing, and math were for him. Then comic books changed everything. Through pictures, he discovered stories, superheroes, and resilience. When he couldn’t put his thoughts into words, he drew them. Art became his superpower and his voice. We’ve learned that what makes him different is also what makes him incredibly strong.
Beckett would choose the superpower ability to bring anything he draws to life. He knows what it feels like to struggle and be left behind in the classroom because he use to doodle in class all day. Now, he wants to use his art to directly help those in need. If a child is lonely, he would draw them a friend. If someone is hurting, he would draw them a shield to protect them. We see how he constantly uses his love of drawing as a tool to help spread happiness and kindness to everyone.
