Brooklynn’s a superhero—she cared for her baby brother after tough hospitalizations, keeps her sister safe & had us laughing through it all!
Thank you for generously supporting Brooklynn in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Brooklynn has a few favorite superheroes; Spin/Miles Morales Spider-Man from Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Rumi from K-Pop Demon Hunters, and Princess Romi from Catch! Teenieping. As a mixed race girl herself, she lights up when heroes look like her and show that kindness, courage, and resilience can all be superpowers. Seeing herself in those heroes makes her feel like she can be the hero of her own story by helping her family through tough times, staying a good kid with a fun-loving spirit!
Brooklynn’s love of superheroes started at home. Her dad has always shared his love of superheroes with her, and her tio’s passion for heroes like Superman and the Power Rangers showed her that being a hero is about protecting the people you care about, showing up and never giving up hope. She and her sister love watching shows where kids with amazing powers prove that, sometimes, the most super thing a hero can do is be there for someone in need - just like her Dad John and Tio GK!
If Brooklynn could have any superpower, she’d choose the power to heal and comfort people. She’s always pretending to be a doctor and ‘fix’ her baby brother JJ or Tio GK’s sore back or scraped knee, and she loves playing firefighters with sister Meadow so she can save her whole family. Her dream power would let her rush in when someone is scared or hurting, just like her old friends with the Paw Patrol, wrap them in a big hug, and help them feel brave and safe again.
