Captain Calvin zips his yellow raincoat to stop rain from washing trash into the ocean, saving animals big and small!
Thank you for generously supporting Calvin in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Calvin is a fan of Captain America who uses a big shield to fight bad guys and protect people. He also likes how Captain America wears blue which represents something familiar like the ocean and earth to him. Captain America is a leader who does what’s right and will put people first.
Calvin‘s love for superhero’s come from his interest in protecting people like his little brother who often gets into trouble if he’s not careful. Calvin has fun pulling his little brother up if he looks like he’s about to fall. He also likes to move fast like superheroes by jumping off the bed into blankets and rescue his stuff animals. In his spare time he enjoys watching Spider-Man save the world on tv.
Calvin’s superpower would be making all trash instantly disappear so pollution never reaches the ocean to harm our animal friends! He would sweep through our neighborhood, parks, and schoolyards, making every stray wrapper and piece of litter vanish into thin air before stormy rain could wash it out to sea. That way, our streets can stay spotless and all creatures can stay safe in crystal-clear water.
