Carter was diagnosed with a rare, incurable disease called RRP at 19 months old. He's had 26 airway surgeries. He's an absolute warrior!

His favorite is Iron Man. When I asked him why, he said because he's just the best. I think it's because Tony Stark is just a guy who happens to be incredibly smart and can build super cool stuff. Carter has always been intrigued by technology, robotics, and how things work. I think he also REALLY enjoys the sarcasm, sass, and humor Robert Downey Junior brings to Marvel movies. Sarcasm and humor are his love languages!
It runs in the family. Most of our family members enjoy a good hero movie. During the COVID shutdown, we spent a lot of time watching movies together to pass the time, and Marvel movies were frequently in the rotation. So, think superhero movies bring back happy memories of less busy, and less demanding times for Carter. (Middle school responsibilities are no joke!)
He said teleportation because he gets car sick on long car rides. He also said it's because he hates leaving home. He'd always rather be at home and curled up with a comfy blanket as much as possible. Teleportation would save so much time and allow him to get straight to his happy place in the blink of an eye.
