Charlie's a brave kid! She lost her dad to cancer, got hit with celiac but manages to be an amazing sister and student! Unstoppable!
Thank you for generously supporting Charlie in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Charlie's favorite superhero is Ghost Spider (AKA Gwen Stacy) because she is able to fly and drum, plus she's a great problem-solver with a pretty color scheme. Wolverine was a close runner up due to his healing factor and haircut. Beast received honorable mention due to his appearing to be a "funnier, blue version of Wolverine." We speculated that Rogue probably gave them both free haircuts in the basement of the X-Mansion back in the 1990s.
I'd like to say from her comic-book-geek mom who's subjected her to the X-Men since infancy, but her true love of superheroes really took shape at two years old with PJ Masks and evolved from there. She loved the costumes and seeing someone her size overcoming the odds! Our little family has endured some difficult changes recently, and that love has really helped her navigate through them with the bravery and grace of a true superhero. She is also sworn protector of her baby sister, Lorna Jean!
It's a tie between teleportation and the ability to change her hair color to pink/purple with a snap of her finger. (She's channeling some serious Jem energy with that one, despite having zero idea who that is, haha, it's showtime synergy!)
