Ghost Spider “Gwen”, the smart, strong, young woman from nearby New York City is Charlotte’s number one superhero! Fighting crime in Pink and Purple, with fashion and style, Ghost Spider’s acrobatic antics are just up Charlotte’s alley, who can’t wait to return to gymnastics and become a flyer with the cheer team when she finishes treatment!
Spidey and His Amazing Friends has been a long standing favorite of Charlotte’s. Dressing up as Ghost Spider and jumping around with her brother, Avery, as Spidey, Charlotte’s love for Gwen Stacey makes sense to her Dad, who collects comic books. When Charlotte would find herself in treatment for Leukemia and weathering pain and hospital stays, Spidey and His Amazing Friends would play, episode after episode, keeping Charlotte company and comforted.
Charlotte, who loves rollercoasters, thrill rides, flipping upside down on her gymnastics bar, and jumping off things she shouldn’t, has always said she would love to be able to fly through the clouds. She refers to her chemo port as her “power button”, and Charlotte likes to pretend that it helps her fly like Iron Man.
