Dean is such a sweet kid. He cares about those around him and helps where he can. Between sports, school, and church, he’s well rounded.
Thank you for generously supporting Dean in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Dean used to love Spider-Man. Then, he found Iron Man, who quickly became his favorite. When asked why, he said that Tony Stark is good with technology, and so is he. Dean was diagnosed with dyslexia in 1st grade. Part of that testing involved IQ tests that showed that Dean is very high in electronics and areas that would assist in games. Dean sees himself in Iron Man, because Tony Stark uses his intelligence instead of super powers or brute strength.
Dean learned his love of superheroes from his dad and siblings. Dean loves going to the theaters to see the latest super hero movie. He and his dad love to collect comic books. They enjoy dragging mom into old comic shops anytime we are in a new city to see what they can find. It’s a great bonding experience that will leave Dean with memories for the rest of his life.
