Spider-Man is Donovan’s alter-ego. He loves that he helps people, is kind, and he sees himself as the real life Peter Parker.
We always told Donovan he was a super hero, always beating every medical obstacle thrown his way, and doing so while smiling and make sure those around him are happy. I remember when he was 2, we were in a meeting with a Dr, who told me he would never live independently or have a normal life, probably not talk etc. I teared up a bit, hadn’t said anything is response before Donovan got up out of his stroller came over climbed in my lap, held my face, and gave me a kiss and said it ok Mama.
Donovan would definitely want the ability help others, whether it be by defeating the bad guys or just helping to make something easier for another person. He wants everyone happy.
