Drew is on the spectrum and he loves being friends with everyone. He is kind and compassionate. He is all around just a really cool kid.
Thank you for generously supporting Drew in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Drew’s favorite superhero is his daddy, Steve. He was larger than life not only because he stood 6’10”, but because he was strong, loving, and made his family feel safe. Although his daddy is now in Heaven, Drew still speaks about him with pride and carries his strength wherever he goes. To Drew, a true superhero is someone whose love and influence never leave you.
Drew connects with superheroes because they show him that being different can be a strength. As a child with autism, he has worked hard to find his voice, overcome challenges, and navigate a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming. After losing part of his finger in a traumatic accident, stories of courage and resilience became even more meaningful. Drew has learned that real heroes keep going, even when life gets hard.
Drew would choose the power to heal. After losing part of his finger in a sudden accident, he knows how frightening it can be to get hurt and how much bravery recovery requires. He would use his power not only to heal himself, but to help other children feel safe, whole, and unafraid. That is Drew even after something difficult happens to him, his compassionate heart still makes room to help someone else.
