Who is Elías's favorite superhero and why do they admire them?

Elías tells us his favorite is Spiderman. He likes that he is super strong and has spider abilities like shooting webs and climbing up walls and buildings so easily. He notices that Spiderman is in school which makes it super exciting that a kid can be a real superhero and save people from the villains of the city. He loves the uniform; his favorite color is blue and one of his brother’s is red. Spiderman shows that even a kid can be brave like Spiderman and save the world and be kind doing it.

Where did Elías's love of superheroes come from?

Elías’ dad is a big kid at heart. His dad grew up without a father and so he tries to give Elías, and his brothers experiences he could never have dreamt of in his life. Ever since Elías was born, and 8 years later with 3 other brothers in the mix ages 7, 4 and almost 2, they’ve always known Marvel and superheroes. What started with superheroes on diapers and clothes transitioned to toys, Legos, books, puzzles, etc. of Marvel. Elías knew how to say “hulk smash” long before lots of vocabulary.

What superpower would Elías want and why?

Elías: If I had just one superpower I think I would want the power to travel through time, but only to the past because I don’t want to ruin the future. If I could travel to the past, maybe I could help stop some of the bad things that happened or help people be safe. Imagine dad! (we talked about this over the weekend of 9/11) I could have stopped those bad guys from crashing the planes into the buildings or when the tornadoes hit in Iowa, I can’t stop them, but I could let people know to run.
