As a black child in Texas, being raised by two dads, our son faces the world every day with positivity, love and compassion.
Thank you for generously supporting Elijah in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Elijah has many, but his favorite is Spiderman! WHY? His cool spider suit, the power to climb up walls, double superhuman abilities and how he is able to shoot webs! He admires his creative thinking to resolve everyday challenges (super smart!), his love and loyalty for his family and friends, and the way Spiderman thinks that NOT everyone is a bad person.
During Covid, not being at school and limited interactions with other people, Daddy, Poppa and Elijah had superhero meetings with all his superhero action figures! We would also, as a family, watch all the Marvel movies and play acted being superheroes. Elijah's love grew over the years, especially as the newer movies came out and Tom Holland became Spiderman.
He wants the ability to create and shoot webs like Spiderman. Elijah wants to use this superpower to be able to swing around the city (chilling) and if he sees a crime, be able to "wrap up" the bad guy. But if he does have to face a villain, that needs more than just wrapping up, then Elijah would like ALL of Spiderman's superpower's!
