Learn MoreSpider-Man. Ella loves that there are so many different versions of Spider-Man, including Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy. She loved Spider-woman so much that she dressed up as her for Halloween, complete with web-shooters on her wrists! Ella relates to their struggles with being different and finding acceptance. She loves how their families and friends stand behind them. Spider-Man reminds her that even when things are hard, you can persevere, find your strength, and succeed.
Ella’s love of superheroes started with watching superhero shows and movies with her dad. It became their special bonding time—and Mom is rarely allowed to participate! (Thankfully, Ella and I have plenty of our own special things.) For Ella, superheroes are more than movies and shows. They are characters she connects with, stories she imagines, and a special way she and Dad share their love of superheroes together.
Ella’s first choice would be the power of Creation—the ability to bring to life all the characters and stories inside her head. She says she has hundreds of them floating around in there! Sometimes words, whether spoken or written, don’t come easily enough to capture everything she imagines. With the power of Creation, she could finally show the world the characters and stories that live in her mind. Her second choice? Flying. Because every superhero should be able to soar!
