Elliot's love for super heros came from her mother. Elliot's mom has been a big fan of marvel super heros since she was young and raised Elliot to find the love in comic books as well.
Elliot would love the super power of teleporting because then she can get to places faster and take people out of trouble by teleporting them to a safe place.
