She created the Super Cupcakes comics but Evelyn’s real power is sweeter: spotting sadness, protecting others, and making people feel seen
Thank you for generously supporting Evelyn in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Evelyn’s favorite superhero is anyone who chooses kindness when no one is watching because she believes anybody can be a hero.
Evelyn’s love of superheroes didn’t start with capes or superpowers. It started with the idea that ordinary things can become extraordinary. In her world, even cupcakes can save the day. She loves superheroes because they make imagination feel possible and because the best ones remind her that courage, loyalty, kindness and protecting others are powers anyone can choose to have.
She would choose the power to communicate with nature and animals especially dogs, whom she loves and protects. She’d listen to animals through their actions, understand messages from trees, flowers and wind, and help keep every living thing safe. Her superhero headquarters would still be the kitchen, where cupcakes turned into living heroes by a radioactive cooking spray. Evelyn wouldn’t just save the day; she’d care for every living thing in it.
