Harry shows up daily for his ASD brother, walks away from cruelty, & stands up for what’s right. He’s a hero in every quiet way that counts.
Thank you for generously supporting Harry in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Harry’s favorite superhero is Spider-Man. He first watched Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse when he was just 3 & has been obsessed with Spider-Man ever since. When he was little, he would dress up as Spider-Man everywhere he went. As he’s gotten older, his love for Spider-Man has grown with him. He’s especially drawn to the character’s humor, creativity, & the idea that anyone can be a hero.
Harry’s love of superheroes came from his dad, who has loved comic books since he was little. He shared that love with me and introduced me to the characters and stories he grew up with. When Marvel movies became mainstream, it felt like a childhood dream come true for him. Harry grew up surrounded by comics, superhero stories, and Marvel movies, and quickly developed his own passion.
If Harry could have any superpower, he would choose time travel. He would want to go back and fix mistakes from the past so that people could have more love, peace, and understanding in their lives. He would especially want to create a world where everyone feels accepted for who they are and where there is less bullying and exclusion. For Harry, the greatest superpower would be the ability to make the world a kinder, more accepting place.
