Learn MoreHero loves the Hulk. Since he was a baby, “Hulk smash!” has made him laugh, and at seven, he still sleeps with his Hulk plushy every night. For Hero, Hulk is more than a superhero. He is an old friend who has brought him joy and comfort for as long as he can remember.
Hero’s love of superheroes started with his name. He was named after his grandfather, Bayani, a Filipino word meaning “hero.” Because of that, family and friends began giving him superhero toys before he was even one. Hulk, Spider-Man, Black Panther and other heroes quickly became part of his world. What started as gifts inspired by his name grew into a love of superheroes that has stayed with him ever since.
Telepathy. Hero’s mind is extraordinary. He was doing his ABCs at 18 months, his multiplication tables by 2½, and reading by 3. He learns quickly, loves deeply, and has so much to share. Yet, being on the spectrum and remaining nonverbal, expressing his thoughts and feelings can be difficult. His superpower would be telepathy, the ability to share everything in his amazing mind and loving heart.
