Thank you for generously supporting Isabella in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.

Who is Isabella's favorite superhero and why do they admire them?

My child's favorite superhero is Spider-man. They admire him because he cracks jokes while fighting, is honestly a genius with maybe too much free time but also not enough free time, and gets traumatized over and over but still stays doing for the sake of others.

Where did Isabella's love of superheroes come from?

Their love of superheroes comes from the humor that you can find in superhero comics and movies. They especially enjoy the frequent sarcasm and occasionally dark jokes. Plus, at some point, all superheroes have to find a line that they will swear not to cross but inevitably will have to. They enjoy the deep questions that come with that and the journey after that most superheroes take to work through that internal conflict.

What superpower would Isabella want and why?

My Super Kid would want the power to step into a dark area and appear somewhere else. They want this power because the idea of being able to go somewhere automatically just by stepping into a shadow or dark room is really interesting and sounds helpful. They would obviously love to be able to teleport to school instead of needing to walk or be able to teleport away from a party they didn't want to be at in the first place. Even being able to hop a few feet or yards would be amazing for school.
