My cerebral palsy warrior never carried a security blanket. He carried a Captain America shield. Thank you, Marvel, for his motivation.

Who is Jackson's favorite superhero and why do they admire them?

Spiderman and Captain America have always been his favorites. They are just everyday kids with pure hearts, who want to do good. They faded into the background until someone noticed them. Even after they were given powers, they kept a pure heart with the best intentions. Jackson has always envisioned himself this way and wants to spend his life sticking up for those who can't do it for themselves.

Where did Jackson's love of superheroes come from?

Jackson was born loving superheroes. He particularly became interested when he realized that he was not like the other kids. He was born with Cerebral Palsy, he had to wear braces and use a walker. He is unable to control his right hand, also. After watching Captain America throw his shield and Spiderman spit out webs, he became determined to be like them. We practiced throwing shields and shooting fake webs in therapy. Now he's the fastest on the playground.

What superpower would Jackson want and why?

Jackson would want super-speed. After being told he would not be able to walk normally, he has been determined to be faster than anyone else. Jackson wants to use this speed to beat everyone and get to the "bad guy" the fastest. Having this speed would give him the confidence he really needs to know that there is something truly special about him.
