Jase has always loved superheroes, but The Flash was his favorite. There was something about that super speed, being able to move fast enough to escape danger, get to the people you love, and help them when they need you most. I think that meant something deeper to him after losing his biological father. He wanted to be fast, strong, and able to protect the people he cared about. And through it all, he grew his own superpower: a heart of gold.
After Jase’s father passed away, he spent so much time with me at the gym. To him, I wasn’t just Mom. I was his superhero. I was his Flash. No matter what went wrong, he believed Mama could fix it, fast. I could make things happen, hold things together, and somehow make everything feel okay again. That was where his first love of superheroes began. Before all the capes and characters, there was me. His mama. His first superhero. His Flash.
He spent so much time with me at the gym. To him, I was his Flash, his superhero who could fix anything at the speed of light. He wanted superhero speed and strength too, not for himself, but so he could be strong enough to help and protect the people he loves. Funny thing is, Jase already has a superpower no gym can build: a heart of gold. He loves deeply, cares fiercely, and that will always be his greatest strength.
