Jayden is Autistic with ADHD. He is an everyday superhero because he is so full of life. He perseveres through those challenges daily.
Thank you for generously supporting Jayden in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Jayden’s favorite superhero is Spider-Man. At 8 years old, Jayden loves Spider-Man’s strength, bravery, humor, and determination to help others. Jayden may be mostly nonverbal, but he communicates so much through his laughter, his smile, his excitement, and the way he plays. He sees something in Spider-Man that feels familiar: someone who is unique, powerful in his own way, and never gives up.
Jayden’s love of superheroes grew from his love of imagination, play, and adventure. He lights up when he sees Spider-Man and loves bringing that excitement into his own world. Jayden loves to laugh, be tickled, play, and solve puzzles, and superheroes give him another way to explore all of those things. Even without many words, he shows us just how much joy and imagination live inside him.
Jayden would choose the superpower to communicate with everyone. He is mostly nonverbal, and we know there is an entire world of thoughts, feelings, humor, dreams, and ideas inside him waiting to be shared. Imagine being able to hear everything that is in his amazing mind. Jayden already teaches us that communication is so much bigger than words. His superpower would simply give the world a chance to hear his voice.
