His favorite hero is SpiderMan because SpiderMan was a normal kid who goes to school who one day had a mutation that gave him special abilities but also came with certain costs. He can relate to that very strongly because he has a lot of strengths that come with his condition but he also has a good amount of obstacles he has to overcome just like SpiderMan. Through all this, Jordyn remains to keep the happiness of his peers and siblings top priority just like SpiderMan.
Before I had a car, I’d take Jordyn on the train to pre-school. It was a long ride, so instead of letting him watch brain rot, I’d show him videos of people drawing comics and creating superheroes. It sparked something in him. Ever since, he’s been completely immersed in the superhero world—he loves reading my old comics and has always dreamed of becoming a superhero himself.
Telepathy and telekinesis. He’d understand that one of the most important parts of life is how we perceive and understand the world and each other. His telepathy would make empathy his greatest strength, like Professor X. Telekinesis would give him another way to protect himself when empathy isn’t enough. A powerful combination—especially in a child who understands how to use it.
