Vegeta from the Dragon Ball franchise is my child's absolute favorite superhero. To anyone unfamiliar with his story, he might seem like an unconventional choice. He doesn't wear a traditional cape, and he doesn't possess the simple, sunny disposition of classic comic book heroes. Instead, Vegeta is a complex, fiercely independent anti-hero. It is precisely this emotional depth, alongside his unmatched determination, that makes him the character my child admires above all others.
Their love for superheroes came directly from their dad, who grew up watching Dragon Ball in the 1990s.Long before our child was born, my husband spent his own childhood captivated by epic anime battles, heroic sacrifices, and characters who constantly pushed past their limits to save the world.
