Who is Lane's favorite superhero and why do they admire them?

Lane loves Venom, Hulk, Spider-Man and Thor. He connects with heroes who are different, misunderstood, incredibly strong, and sometimes have to learn how to handle big emotions or powerful things happening inside them. As an autistic kid, Lane knows what it feels like to experience the world differently. He sees that difference in his heroes too. They remind him that being different doesn't make you less—it can be exactly what makes you powerful.

Where did Lane's love of superheroes come from?

Superheroes have always fascinated Lane because they turn being different into something extraordinary. Lane is autistic, and his brain experiences the world in its own unique way. Autism may bring challenges, but it also gives him a different perspective, creativity, passion and a wonderful ability to notice things others may miss. Superhero stories show him that you don't have to be like everyone else to do incredible things. Sometimes your differences become your greatest strengths.

What superpower would Lane want and why?

Lane would want the power to control storms and lightning and use his strength to protect others—especially kids who feel different or misunderstood. But in many ways, Lane already has a superpower: his autistic brain. He sees, feels and experiences things differently. Autism doesn't stop him from becoming who he wants to be. It gives him a different way of getting there. His greatest lesson as a superhero would be discovering that different doesn't mean less. It means a different ability.
