Mahony is my superhero because he faces every challenge with courage, shines in his own special way, and teaches us unconditional love.

Mahony’s favorite superhero is Spider-Man. He loves his energy, action, and incredible adventures. Even though Mahony is nonverbal, you can see his excitement when something he loves catches his attention. Spider-Man is brave, determined, and keeps going even when things are difficult—qualities I see in Mahony every single day.
Mahony’s love of superheroes grew from his love of colorful characters, action, and adventure. Superheroes give him something exciting that he can connect with and enjoy in his own way. As his mom, I love watching his face light up when he sees characters he recognizes. He may not always be able to tell me what he’s thinking, but his excitement says it all
If Mahony could choose a superpower, I think he would choose the power to communicate without limits. As a nonverbal child, he has so much personality, love, excitement, and curiosity inside of him. I would love for the world to instantly understand everything he wants to share, whether through words, gestures, or simply his own unique way. His superpower would be showing everyone that having a voice is about so much more than speaking.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Super Kid, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
