Mason has older brothers that were introduced to super heroes early on by their dad. They were able to assist Mason's dad with introducing Mason to superheroes and quickly getting him to fall in love with them. Mason is able to use heroes as role models to fight back against the limitations his disability has set against him; and he's winning!
Mason said he would want flight and super speed as superpowers because then he could be like the other kids and then if his legs didn't work right, he could fly.
