He doesn’t need a cape-his superpower is making people laugh, love harder, and see the good in every day, one adventure at a time.
Thank you for generously supporting Matthias in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Matthias’s favorite superhero is Spider-Man because he shows that you don’t have to be perfect to be a hero. Spider-Man is brave, funny, helps people, and always tries to do the right thing—even when it’s hard. Matthias loves that being a superhero isn’t just about having powers; it’s about using what you have to make someone else’s day better. I think he sees a little bit of himself in Spider-Man: silly, energetic, adventurous, and always ready to help.
Matthias’s love for superheroes grew from his huge imagination. He’s always been an energetic, adventurous kid who loves exploring, trying new things, and turning ordinary moments into an adventure. As he discovered superheroes, he connected with the idea that being strong means helping others, being brave, and never giving up. To Matthias, superheroes aren’t just people with powers—they’re people who use what they have to make a difference. I think he sees himself in that.
If Matthias could have one superpower, he’d choose to fly. He loves adventure, being outside, and discovering new things, so the sky would become his ultimate playground. But Matthias wouldn’t fly just for fun. He’d use his superpower to get wherever someone needed help, explore places he’s never seen, and bring excitement wherever he goes.
