Maverick’s superpower is his kind heart—he includes everyone, senses when someone needs help, and always knows how to brighten their day!
Thank you for generously supporting Maverick in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
The Flash is Maverick's favorite superhero because he sees something special in him. He loves that The Flash can run faster than anyone and even travel through time. To Maverick, that means anything is possible. The Flash reminds him that being different can be a superpower, and that with courage, imagination, and a little speed, you can go anywhere—even through time!
Maverick's love of superheroes started with his dad's love of Batman. As his mom, it melts my heart watching him admire the heroes his dad loves. He’s fascinated by their special abilities and how they use them to help others. He’s learning that being different can be something wonderful—a strength, not a weakness. To him, superheroes are brave, kind, and strong, just like the person who first made him love them: his dad!
If Maverick could have any superpower, he’d choose shapeshifting! With his big imagination and playful personality, he’d turn into different superheroes to use their powers and save the day. But knowing him, he’d have just as much fun turning into something silly and surprising his friends with harmless pranks! He’d make every day an adventure—helping people, making them laugh, and having a little mischief along the way.
