Mikey’s favorite superhero is Spider-Man. Mikey was nonverbal until almost age 4, and as he began finding his voice, Grandma gave him a Spider-Man action figure. He couldn’t say “Spider-Man” yet, so he called him “eh-payo-yeh.” Years later, Spider-Man is still his favorite. He admires that Peter Parker is smart, different, and keeps going through hard things while using his gifts to help others—qualities that make Mikey see a little of himself in his hero.
Mikey’s love of superheroes began when he was very little, before he even had the words to tell us what he loved. As an autistic child who was nonverbal until almost 4, characters became one of the ways he connected with the world. Superheroes captured his imagination—their powers, stories, costumes, and courage. As he found his voice, that love only grew. Today, it inspires his own creativity through drawing, anime, technology, and creating characters and worlds of his own.
Mikey would choose invisibility! His plan? Sneak up on his sister’s “archenemy” and pull the ultimate invisible prank. 😂 But behind his mischievous plan is a big-brother mission: protect his sister and always have her back. In Mikey’s superhero world, no villain stands a chance when an invisible big brother is on duty! 🦸♂️
