Miles is an old soul whose superpowers are kindness, wisdom, curiosity, and creativity. He embraces challenges, dreams big and helps others.
Thank you for generously supporting Miles in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Spider-Man is Miles’s favorite superhero because he is young, cool, and unapologetically nerdy. Miles admires the way he applies geometry and science to his powers, from creating web fluid to calculating how he swings through the city. More importantly, Peter Parker is funny, deeply cares about people and his family, and is always eager to help others. To Miles, he proves that being a nerd is cool—and that intelligence and compassion are powers of their own.
Miles’s love of superheroes came from comics. He loved reading their stories and learning about them through superhero reference books. He has always been drawn to graphic novels, and whenever he could find one centered on a superhero, he made sure to read it. The combination of storytelling, art, science, imagination, and heroic problem-solving captured his curiosity and kept that love growing.
If Miles could choose a superpower, he would manipulate probability the ability to control the odds. His reasoning is that everything has odds; therefore, by controlling them, he could control nearly anything. He would use that power to address humanity’s greatest challenges and give people greater access to resources, opportunities, and knowledge. He believes that with near-omnipotence, a good heart, a deep sense of peace, and a clear purpose, he could do extraordinary good.
