Nataya was born with a very rare syndrome and was not expected to survive, but she is such a fighter she beat the odds several times!!
Thank you for generously supporting Nataya in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Nataya’s favourite superhero is Spider-Man. He is smart, funny and very kind. His kindness is what sets him apart from most superheroes. He’s always doing good for others and trying to help them. Kindness is a gift and he uses his gifts well!
Nataya’s dad loved to watch superhero cartoons with Nataya. She was very sick and scared when she was little so having the TV on at night while she was in the hospital helped her sleep. Her Dad would turn it on to the old Spider-Man cartoons he grew up with. They would watch them together and he would sing the theme song to her. Even when she fell asleep he would leave Spider-Man on. She even had a Spider-Man stuffy doll to keep her company.
Nataya would like the super power of taking away loneliness and fear, especially for those kids who spend so much time in the hospital like she did when she was little. If sick children were not lonely and scared they would get better faster and go home to their families sooner!
