Pablo’s favorite superhero is Miles Morales. Seeing a Puerto Rican, Black boy with curly hair become Spider-Man made Pablo feel represented in a way that was special to him. Miles showed him that a hero can look like him, come from a family and culture like his, and still be extraordinary. He admires Miles because he is smart, brave, kind, and learns to believe in himself even when he doubts whether he is enough. Miles reminds Pablo that he doesn’t have to change who he is to be great.
His love of superheroes grew from more than powers and action it came from the stories behind them. Pablo loves learning who heroes are, what they overcome, and why they choose to do good. When he discovered Miles Morales, it became personal. He saw pieces of himself in Spider-Man his Puerto Rican roots, his skin, his curls, and his family. Superheroes became more than characters he admired; they became a reminder that someone who looks and feels like him can be the hero of the story.
Pablo would choose the power to heal. Not just injuries, but anything that causes someone pain. He has a caring heart and notices when others are hurting, so being able to make someone feel better would mean more to him than being the strongest or fastest. To Pablo, a real superpower wouldn’t be about being powerful it would be about using that power to help someone who needs it.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Super Kid, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
