Spiderman Disney Junior's Spidey & His Amazing Friends! We were trying to find something to watch that would help him get all the stimmy's out ( my son has nonverbal autism, and he stims and runs a lot). The show caught his eye because of how fast-paced and upbeat the music is, as well as cute problem-solving scenarios within his family, friends, and city around him. I appreciate how they made a younger version of Peter this time & having cameos and spin-offs with other marvel characters
My son's love of superheroes stems from his unique perspective as a child with autism. Stories about characters like Spider-Man & Iron Man resonated with him, highlighting themes of resilience, acceptance, & heroism in the face of challenges. He finds comfort in their journeys, often feels empowered by their ability to overcome obstacles. Watching animated series helped him develop social skills, while their colorful worlds gave his imagination a safe space to flourish
My son has an incredible ability to empathize with others, often recognizing when someone is feeling down or struggling. I’ve seen him reach out to friends in need, offering a listening ear or a comforting hug. His kindness shines through in small gestures, like sharing his toys or helping classmates who are feeling left out. I’m amazed by how he understands emotions, often putting himself in others' shoes. This capacity for empathy makes me teary-eyed because even though he's nonverbal he soars
