Thank you for generously supporting Rexford in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Our 11-year-old’s favorite superhero is Batman. He admires Batman because he doesn’t have superpowers - he relies on courage, intelligence, determination, and hard work. Batman never gives up, even when things get difficult, and always stands up for people who need help. He shows that being a hero isn’t about having special abilities, but about making good choices, facing challenges, and doing what’s right.
Fair to say his love of superheroes started with Mom and Dad - but was fueled by the excitement of today’s pop culture and big superhero movies. From watching Batman and other heroes on screen to discovering their stories, characters, and adventures, superheroes quickly became something he connected with. It’s been fun watching that interest grow into a genuine love for the characters and what they represent.
He wants the power to make imagination reality - but only when it could be used to help others. He wants to create things that make people’s lives better, solve problems, and bring joy. His goal is to have the ability to dream up something helpful and then make it real.
