His cape is invisible but his courage isnβt. Every day he tackles something hard and comes out smiling. Superhero, no costume needed. π¨π¦

Rumih can't yet tell us his favorite, but we think he'd choose the X-Men. Stan Lee created them as kids born different, carrying gifts the world overlooked. Rumih is 5, lives in Ajax, Ontario, and has Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder, a hidden disability. People see a little boy, and they don't always see the courage it takes him to get through an ordinary day. Like the X-Men, he shows up anyway, and he does it smiling.
His dad and I grew up reading comics, and that love became superhero movie nights and superhero birthdays in our home. Rumih may not follow the stories yet, but a true hero shows up in small ways. At a Pumpkinville festival recently, he did wonderfully, and he even shared his train with a little girl. He's all smiles in his Spider-Man suit, and to us, Spider-Man is Stan Lee's ordinary kid with hidden strength, which is exactly who Rumih is.
We think it would be Professor X's telepathy. Words often fail Rumih, caught between a mind full of feeling and a world that struggles to understand. Professor X's greatest power was never physical, it was truly hearing others. If Rumih could speak straight into people's hearts, no one would ever mistake his silence for absence. Every free daily vote tells him he is seen.
