Silas loves Spiderman because he proves you don’t have to be the biggest or strongest to make a difference. He’s brave, funny, helps people who need him, and always gets back up. Silas has spent years climbing everything like Spiderman, but most of all he seems to have been inspired by Spiderman's humor in the face of danger and unseen strength and resilience as he falls and gets back up without missing a beat, and chooses to use his superpowers to help others.
Silas grew up trying on all kinds of superheroes, from climbing everything like Spiderman, summoning Hulk like determination when something seems to be in the way and dazzling people with his Iron Man like charm. The whole family absolutely adores StoryBots and Super Mega Awesome Ultra Guy. Over time, superheroes have become more than play to us. They helped shape our family values of integrity and compassion, encouraging us to show up, even when its hard and always be kind to others.
Silas would choose the power to heal and teleportation. He’s always there first on the scene when someone needs to feel better if they’re hurt, sick, or having a hard day . Whether he’s cheering on his big brother with autism, or teaching his classmates, helping strangers on the playground, and standing up for those who voice can be a little difficult to hear right away. Silas's super powers combine laughter with an instict to help. He makes so many believe compassion is a superpower.
