Trey is an everyday superhero because he leads with curiosity, kindness and joy, making every room brighter just by being himself.
Thank you for generously supporting Travis in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Miles Morales is Trey’s favorite superhero because he sees a hero who looks like him: a young Black boy who’s smart, funny, brave, and still figuring things out. Miles shows him that you don’t have to be the biggest, strongest, or most traditional hero to make a difference. You can be yourself, love your family, embrace what makes you different, and still be extraordinary. Plus, let’s be real the suit, the music, and those web-slinging moves are VERY cool to a five-year-old.
Trey’s love of superheroes started with us. Our family has always loved superhero movies and stories, so he grew up surrounded by them. As he’s gotten older, that love has become his own. He loves the powers, costumes, action, and imagining himself saving the day. More than anything, I hope he carries their best lessons with him: be brave, be kind, stand up for others, and always believe that someone just like him can make a difference.
Trey would choose super speed because, in his mind, there’s simply too much to do and see to move slowly! He could race anywhere in seconds, help people before they even knew they needed him, and still make it home in time to play. For a kid who is always curious, moving, exploring, and ready for his next adventure, super speed fits him perfectly. And knowing Trey, he’d use it to make sure the people he loves are always safe.
