He leads with kindness, includes others, stands for what’s right, lifts everyone up, and makes people feel seen, valued, and less alone.
Thank you for generously supporting Ty in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Spider-Man is his favorite superhero because he’s like him, he’s still a student and around his same age. He deals with everyday struggles Ty sometimes struggles with too. What inspires him most is that even when people hurt him, he doesn’t hide in the shadows or use his powers to hurt them back. He chooses to do what’s right. Spider-Man reminds him that being strong isn’t about getting revenge—it’s about having the courage to choose good. I love “With great power comes great responsibility.”
He started watching the movies and just became obsessed with superheroes and trying to become one. But also realized his favorite part about the superheroes is who they were beyond the power and underneath the mask. That’s when he stopped wanting to become a superhero and started acting like one in his everyday life.
I think he would want something that connects to stars. He’s talked about how star/cosmic powers would be super cool and how you could do a lot with how a star actually works in real life to make him a superhero as if he were a “living star”. I think he also likes those because he loves traveling and going on vacations, especially cruises and so I think something with the ocean would be something he’d love too. Overall I think he would love having a signature power that defines him
