Wes has been our superhero since his premature birth. He has "special" abilities, his smile is his one of his strengths!
Thank you for generously supporting Wesley in this year’s competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Stan Lee Foundation and their mission to promote literacy and the narrative arts.
Spiderman is Wes' favorite super hero, specifically Miles Morales. I think Wes relates to Miles not just because of Miles' powers, but because of his artistic talents. Wes loves art, specifically graffiti art. As a child, Wes refused to write or draw because of the weakness in his hands, now, he has taken 4 years of art, just started graphic design which he hopes to make a career out of. Wes writes Fan Fiction and collects all things Spiderman, comics, posters, clothes.
We have always called Wes our super hero, his dad even made him a cape when he was 5 with Super Wes on the back. When he was born, his parents were told to hold him until he passed, but we knew Wes held special powers, hence my name for him, Miracle Man.
Wes mentors his special ed friends. Like Spiderman, we believe strongly that Wes will always look out for the little guy and use his special abilities to do just that.
