Zoe’s love of superheroes began with Black Panther. Seeing Black heroes at the center of the story felt familiar and reflected part of her own identity. That connection opened the door to the entire Marvel Universe. I think seeing herself in all these superheroes changed how she understood heroism, not as a spotlight reserved for a chosen few, but as an expanding universe where everyone could belong.
When I asked Zoe, she said, “I’d want people to see themselves the way I see them, even if just for a moment, because sometimes people don’t know how special they really are. I’d show them what they’re good at, what makes them different, and all the things they're capable of. Sometimes, all someone needs is one person who believes in them. I'd want to be that person."
