The comic books and movies. He has always loved science and math. He also loves hot rods. I think the combination of both, combined with the incredible gadgets caught his attention. Sylar says, "Most of all, I love that he only cares about saving the world. That there is no one that is not worth saving."
Sylar says, "Teleportation or Shapeshifting. Teleporting because I can get the thrill of flying, and the ability to get to places quickly, Which would be extremely helpful in so many ways. Shapeshifting, so I can turn into different objects that are useful and helpful."
